Located near the Kitchener Farmer's Market, this piece was created to contribute to the placemaking of the neighbourhood. I created a garden scene made up of local plants including apples, bell peppers, cucumbers, peaches and cherry tomatoes. I wanted the focus to be on the blossoms of these plants, as if it were the start of the season.
While painting this mural, I was surprised by the amount of enthusiasm from people in the area, not just for this piece, but for all the art that had been going up around the city. This led to many meaningful conversations with strangers about their own creative interests, and the importance of art in the community.
