The owners of this 1920s home wanted to restore it to its original glory, and embrace the opulence of the Art Deco era. For the dining room, their vision was to cover the walls in giant flowers. I designed a piece that features a collection of flowers, some of which are rare and others which hold sentimental value to the owners. It wraps around the room, and onto the ceiling, meeting at a chandelier in the centre. I used a matte paint for the dark green background, which has a rich, velvety appearance. For the flowers, I accented some details with gold paint, then coated all of them in a clear gloss to contrast with the matte background.
